On the occasion of the traditional festival of West Bengal, “ Durga Puja “ , we decided to go to Tajpur for a trip…
I was eagerly waiting for the day when I will go to Tajpur with my parents, grandparents and my paternal aunt. The day before Puja, we packed all our pretty clothes, our favourite snacks and our other important materials.
The next day my mind was thrilled!! We dressed up and walked to the car. In the middle of our journey, we took a breakfast break and then continued our journey…
Finally, we reached the spot, and it felt like I travelled into a world of nature!! The trees and plants shone as the light from the sun fell on its bright green leaves. The flowers started a fashion show and wore different dresses- pink, red, orange, yellow, blue or even two colours together! The birds sang sweetly and it felt like Krishna was playing the flute. The sea created waves and it glistened in the bright light of the Sun. A light breeze touched my skin and a sweet perfume came to my nose.
We entered the resort cottage and it was nice and clean. We ate at the nearby restaurant and we ate foods like- rice and or luchi, chapatti with dal and or fish curry, chicken, mutton, mixed veg curry , papad , chutney or even crab !
The next morning I woke up early and I was extremely excited! Do you know why? Because, we had a plan to go for swimming in the private beach. The beach did not even have a person except us! We had so much fun in the beach and then returned back to our cottage.
We took a break and then we explored the whole resort. There were many trees and plants like – sapota tree, mango tree, lemon plant , hibiscus plant , rose plant , marigold plant etc. There were also many creatures like – ducks, hens , goats, insects etc. My favourite were the pet dogs who followed me wherever I go. The foods that we ate in the restaurant were actually from these plants and animals like –eggs from ducks and hens, fish from the pond, chutney from the mango tree etc.
In the evening we went to the local beach and it was very beautiful. The little waves of the ocean came near the shore as the light breeze passed over it. The sky became orange and the beach was full of red crabs.
Then we headed to the Durga Puja pandal and it was very very pretty. There were lights all over near the pandal. The next day again we went to the beach side and the pet dogs Lali and Kali followed me all the way to the beach side through the casuarina forest. Kali took a bath with us and he jumped and ran as the huge waves came near him.
Then we returned back to the resort and had a soothing morning under the shed near the Sivsagar pond. Then we packed everything and went back to our accommodation.
I enjoyed the trip to Tajpur and I wish I could go again to a place which is full of the beauty of nature.
